Drive-on Passengers

The M.V. Coho is the only direct way to travel with your vehicle from Victoria, BC to Washington State. The M.V. Coho can accommodate nearly every road-legal vehicle. With a vertical clearance of 14 feet, your car, motorhome, semi, boat or trailer is welcome aboard the ship.  

A portion of every sailing is available on a first-come, first-served basis; however, reservations are recommended to secure a specific sailing time. To determine potential wait times for first-come, first-served space, drivers can phone their departure terminal view our contact information here 

The non-refundable reservation fee is in addition to the fare. Online reservations must be made at least 12 hours prior to departure. Vehicle reservations not claimed within 60 minutes of departure are subject to forfeiture and the reservation fee will not be refunded.

If you are mobility impaired, please let the staff know when you check in at the terminal.  There are no elevators on board, but wheelchair service is available.

It is the responsibility of passengers to ensure that they can present the correct identification required to cross an international border view details on ID requirements here


Arrival Times

Departures from Victoria
For drive-on passengers departing Victoria, please arrive at the terminal 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time for Immigration clearance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. (When there is a 6:10am departure, drivers should arrive 60 minutes prior to sailing.)

Departures from Port Angeles
For drive-on passengers departing Port Angeles, please arrive at the terminal 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. We load between 20-30 minutes prior to departure.
