Hurricane Ridge Guided Tour with Olympic Hiking Co.

Port Angeles, WA
This trip to Hurricane Ridge begins with a scenic drive from sea-level in Port Angeles to 5,242 feet elevation at the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center. Along the drive, you will enjoy views of the diverse topography and terrain of the Olympic Peninsula as it quickly changes with elevation. Depending on the mountain weather forecast, you will enjoy sweeping views of the Bailey Range of the Olympic Mountains, Mount Olympus (7,980 ft), massive river valleys, the Strait of Juan De Fuca, Port Angeles, Victoria B.C., and Vancouver Island. Upon arrival, your hiking guide will lead a 2-3 mile guided hiking tour along the Cirque Rim Trail (flat-paved 0.5 miles), the High Ridge Trail (gravel & paved 1 mile), and other nearby trails as time allows.

Throughout this tour, your guide will identify landmarks, discuss the natural history, flora and fauna, and other compelling facts about Olympic National Park. At Hurricane Ridge, you are likely to see Black Tail Deer, a variety of birds, and if you're lucky an Olympic Marmot or Black Bear (from a safe distance). Overall, expect to spend approximately 2 hours atop Hurricane Ridge pending road and weather conditions.

This tour is available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. You must check-in with Olympic Hiking Co. at the Port Angeles Visitor Center 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. The Port Angeles Visitor Center is located to the left of our Port Angeles ferry terminal.

Included in the tour price are the Olympic National Park entrance fees, round-trip transportation from Port Angeles, and a local naturalist hiking guide. Outdoor activewear, extra layers, and comfortable walking/hiking shoes with good traction are recommended.
