1. Is the ferry handicapped accessible?

Access to the passenger deck on the ferry is accomplished through our terminal buildings. If you are traveling by vehicle, please mention your special needs to our staff when you arrive at the terminal. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

2. Are pets allowed on the ferry?

Yes, however they are not allowed in the interior areas of ferry. We do supply pet kennels, which are located in the solarium. The only exceptions are guide dogs for people who are visually impaired, and certified assistance dogs for those with other disabilities. All pets are required to show certificates of rabies shots.

3. How long does the trip take?

The crossing takes one hour and thirty minutes from dock to dock. One hour and five minutes of the sailing is crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and remaining twenty-five minutes is entering or leaving the inner harbors.

4. How far is it from Victoria, B.C. to Port Angeles, WA?

The distance from dock to dock is 22.59 nautical miles.

5. How many passengers can the ferry carry?

We are licensed and carry life saving equipment that meets or exceeds all international Safety of Life at Sea requirements for up to 1000 passengers.

6. How many vehicles and what type of vehicles does the ferry hold?

We handle cars, trucks, campers, motor homes, trailers, motorcycles, buses, and commercial trucks. Our capacity is 110 vehicles depending on size and type.

7. Is smoking permitted on the ferry?

Smoking is not permitted in interior areas of the ferry.

8. Where do bicycles board?

Cyclists should proceed to the passenger departure area for ticketing and access to the ferry.

9. Is reserved seating available?

There is no reserved seating.

10. Are there outside decks to walk around?

Yes, there is outside decks that are a great area to experience the ocean air and to have a close up view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the abundance of wild life. Also, don’t forget about the solarium, which is located on the stern of the ship and has ample seating.

11. Is there food service on board the ferry?

On board there are a variety of beverages and food items located in our snack bar.

12. Does the ferry operate year-round?

Yes, except a two-week period in either January or February for its required annual maintenance.

13. Are you allowed on the car deck while underway?

Access to the car deck is prohibited while underway, unless accompanied by a ship’s employee.

14. Does bad weather affect the crossing?

Bad weather has never caused our ferry to be cancelled. However, the travel time across the strait can be longer.
